IOSH Managing Safely via virtual classroom

"We wanted to upskill our workforce to raise awareness of the importance of health and safety, and to take an active role in managing safety within Land’s End Landmark. To do so, we brought together the company's senior managers and other employees to learn the basics of health and safety. The course was delivered by virtual classroom, so our learners could experience the training in the comfort of their own homes and then work their way through the eLearning at their own pace.

“Mark was such an engaging trainer with a high amount of knowledge. He told us what we needed to know to ensure that we passed the course. He was incredibly supportive and it made me feel at ease knowing I was getting some decent training. Having attempted another IOSH course by a different company, and having to pull out due to sickness, this course was so much better! I really like the self-taught aspect of the course, meaning you can study at your own pace to really understand the information.

"The virtual classroom format worked really well. Consisting of three half-days of training, the learners then went online on International Workplace’s eLearning portal to work their way through the seven modules of online content, consisting of case studies, video content, animations and interactive exercises."

Benefits of the virtual classroom format

“I loved the virtual classroom! There was no pressure to turn your camera on, and you can sit in the comfort of your own home or office. If you’re wanting an engaging way to learn health and safety, International Workplace is the company for you! For a subject that can be deemed boring, Mark was so engaging that he ensured we understood what we needed to. Spread over three days so you were not overloaded with information it ensured I got everything I needed to out of the course.

“I enjoyed the fact it was a virtual classroom as it meant I was able to choose a location that I knew I could work from that was going to be most valuable for me. I don’t work very well amongst large groups and in classrooms. The course itseld was very informative and interesting. It was interactive, easy to access and to fit around my work commitments. Overall, an excellent learning experience.”
